Carefully stick the created roses into the layers of newspaper; if a toothpick cannot penetrate the thick paper layer, then first make holes with a thin knife.

First, decorate the middle of the basket with snow-white roses.

Preparing the base

If you took foam plastic as a basis, then first you need to give it a shape. This is done with a sharp knife, but very carefully so that there are no sharp corners or irregularities. Otherwise, our basket will be of a strange shape. Next, when the base is ready, we follow this plan:

1. Using a compass from the top of the base, we make markings for the pins. It should exactly follow the shape of your future basket - this is an important point, and be 0.5 cm from the edge.
2. We make exactly the same markings, trying to align the upper and lower points, on the bottom at a distance of 1 cm from the edge.
3. In a circle, at a distance of about 0.5 cm from each other, we stick pins into the base. They should go in to a depth of 1 cm.
4. We repeat the same thing on the bottom side.

Important! Please note: below, where the base of the basket will be, we retreat a little more from the edge. This way our product will look more realistic.

Basket weaving

Now we start working with the ribbons to create a beautiful wrap for our basket. At this stage, accuracy and concentration are very important. The ability to weave macrame will also come in handy:

1. We bend one edge of the tape in half lengthwise and secure it with a pin.
2. We draw the ribbon down, put it on the bottom pin, folding it in half lengthwise, then bring it up.
3. We put it on the top pin again, and so, like a snake, we continue to braid the base over its entire surface.
4. Make sure that the fold of the tape is directed in one direction. Every time we do something like a figure eight.
5. Once you finish braiding the side part without cutting the ribbon, start wrapping it around the pins at the top.

Using wire cutters, applying considerable force, we bend the wire - the base of our future handle and begin to braid it with the same ribbon that was used to decorate the basket:

1. Bend the right end of the tape in a semicircle and place it on top of the wire.
2. We lower the left one down, passing it over the right ribbon, and pull it from behind into the resulting loop to the right of the wire. Tighten the knot. We repeat this many times.
3. If everything is done correctly, we should end up with a “spiral” of knots.
4. We tie the ribbon with a bow and cut it. The ends of the ribbon need to be melted with a lighter or candle fire so that they do not unravel.
5. We attach the handle symmetrically to the basket, clamping the “ears” with pliers. We tie a ribbon to the ears and make bows.

Important! There is another simpler option on how to make a beautiful pen. Carefully wrap the blank of our future handle in a spiral from top to bottom and attach it to the base. It will look no worse than wicker.

Soap based basket

• If the ribbons slip when braiding the side part, you can slightly moisten them and lay them as needed. Once dry, the tape will not move.

Materials for work

We will need:

• Make a loop out of the blue ribbon and pass it through the yellow loop. Tighten the yellow loop a little.
• Then make a loop out of the yellow ribbon, thread it through the blue loop, and tighten the blue one.
• Thus we continue to weave loop into loop.

Important! Make sure the squares are even. You can’t tighten it too much, but you don’t need to leave it too weak either.

• Continue weaving the bauble until its length is equal to the circumference of the workpiece. As soon as we reach the desired size, carefully tighten the tapes together and cut off the excess.
• In order to cover the entire box, we will need several tapes. The longest bauble will go on the top part, and the shortest one on the bottom. Another strip will go to the handle. Glue it to a strip of cardboard and secure it to the sides.

A few secrets that will be useful when creating baubles:

• When weaving, the loops do not need to be tightened too much. They should be a little loose, then you will achieve beautiful symmetry.
• If you didn’t manage to weave a beautiful bauble the first time, don’t rush to throw away the materials. Just unravel the strip and start again.
• If the ribbons slip out during operation and the loop falls apart, secure them with a pin. Once you gain experience, everything will work out just fine.

4. Bend the tape away from you. The working part of the tape should not be lower than the bud itself.
5. We twist the ribbon away from us and begin to form a rose flower. It is important to respect the shape of the flower here. It should not be convex or sunken.
6. Having made the required number of turns, turn the rose over and cut off the excess edge of the tape, scorching it with fire.
7. Without turning the bud over, glue a toothpick into the middle of the flower.

There is no need to glue the bottom for a long time or somehow strengthen it. It is enough to simply insert it inside and enjoy the completed stage of work, because now only a little remains.

Cut a 2-3 cm strip of cardboard, tighten it tightly with a wide ribbon and sew along the center of its edge.

After this, sew the finished handle to the bottom of the basket with the seam facing out. And now the basket is ready.

All you have to do is decorate it and you can safely show it to the public. To do this, take a narrow ribbon and sew along it with even stitches. The thread needs to be pulled a little so that the ribbon begins to look like ruffles.

Next, carefully sew these ruffles along the entire perimeter of the top edge and trim off the excess.

Use the rest of the tape to hide the seam on the handle, gluing it with polymer glue.
