What size should booties be?

Take a measurement of your baby's feet onto a piece of paper. Draw a straight line along the sheet, attach the baby’s heel to it, and mark the end of the big toe with a line. Also determine the dimensions of the widest point of the child's foot. To ensure that the booties fit comfortably on your feet, add one and a half centimeters to these dimensions.

The foot length of a newborn baby is usually 9 centimeters, for a 3-6 month old baby it is 9 centimeters, and for a 6-9 month old baby it is 11.5 centimeters. To create booties you will need 55-75 meters of yarn. You can use knitting needles number 2 - 4.5: the thicker the yarn, the thicker the knitting needles are needed.

The length of the sole is 9 centimeters. Yarn of two colors is used for knitting. The main yarn is Milk Cotton - “Golden Collection”, made using German technology, which contains 45% cotton, 15% silk and 40% acrylic. The length of the thread in a 50-gram skein is 150 meters. For the sole, 9 cm long, yarn of two colors was used, both produced by Pekhorka of the “Children's Novelty” series, consisting of high-volume acrylic, of which there are 200 meters per 50 grams. Hook No. 2.5 was used.

To create them, you will need thick wool blend yarn of two colors, which contains equal parts wool and acrylic. There are 100 meters of this yarn per 100 grams. The sole will be 11-11.5 cm long. A number five hook is used.
