Warm suit for a mug made from socks. New Year's clothes for a cup (mug)

We continue the topic of the convenience of drinking tea in the fall; earlier I already talked about beautiful teapots in a wonderful and funny article. The turn has come to the mugs, we will knit with knitting needles and update the old mug. This update has not only a decorative purpose, but can also protect your hands from a hot cup of tea. Making something like this with your own hands is quick and easy.

We will need:

  • Mug, glass or porcelain.
  • Yarn, any of your favorite colors.
  • Knitting needles (size depending on thread thickness).

We measure the circumference of the mug, for me it is 25.5 cm and the height of the mug, 9.5 cm. We knit a figure as in the picture.

For knitting, I took two threads, wool and cotton. We cast on a number of loops equal to slightly less than the height of the mug, so that later it will be convenient to drink. I got 24 loops (this is 8 cm high). We knit the first 3 rows with facial loops, 4th row – all facial loops, 5th row: We knit the first 3 loops and the last 3 loops, purl the loops between them. Repeat rows 4 and 5 to the required web length. Last 4 rows knit with facial loops (I did 100 rows). We close 8 loops, knit 8 and close the remaining 8 again. We cut the thread and tie it to the beginning of the open knitting loops buttonholes and further 12 rows. For hole for a button on the 12th row we close 4 middle loops, and in the next row we cast on 4 new loops. And we also knit the last 4 rows and bind off all the loops.

Sew on the button.

It turns out this is a blouse for a mug.

For decoration, you can sew a small uneven rectangle from felt and embroider on it tea.

Here are more examples of such knitted clothes for mugs, from different craftsmen.

After studying the diagram and illustrated master class, you will learn how to knit a cover for a mug with your own hands in one evening.

The knitted case not only looks beautiful, but also performs practical functions - it protects your hands from a hot cup and keeps the drink warm. This universal case will come in handy both at home and at work. It can be given to a man for the New Year, February 23 or another holiday. The yarn consumption is low, the technique is simple and suitable for beginners. Use different colors so that everyone gets an original surprise.

Knitting materials and tools

To knit a cover for a mug, prepare a kit that includes:

  • a cylindrical mug, preferably without a pattern or with a print that can be hidden under a case;
  • knitting needles No. 3;
  • hook No. 2.5-3 (this tool is optional);
  • acrylic or mixed yarn - for a guy, choose strict colors, and for women, brighter ones;
  • centimeter (ruler);
  • a button of small diameter - more strict for a man, romantic for a girl;
  • needle and thread.

Step-by-step work technique

The dimensions of the knitted cover for a standard tea cup are 6*24 cm. Knitting density – 2 loops per 1 cm. If your knitting density differs from the specified one, recalculate the number of loops you are casting on. The presented model has a transverse pattern. That is, the pattern is not located from bottom to top in relation to the mug, but is oriented horizontally.

Pattern loops the covers are distributed as follows:

  • 1 edge,
  • 3 garter stitch (in knit and purl rows all stitches are knitted only with knit stitches),
  • 6 for a braid with a cross to the right (three are left before knitting, three are knitted from the knitting needle, then the first three are put on the knitting needle and knitted),
  • 3 loops with garter pattern,
  • 1 edge.

Knit braids in front rows - knit, from the inside - purl.

Choose the right mug. Measure its height with a centimeter or ruler. Keep in mind that it is better to make the case of such a size that it didn't reach the top a little(by 1-1.5 cm), otherwise it will be uncomfortable to drink from the container. In this master class, the optimal size is chosen - about 6 cm. 2. Cast on 14 loops on the knitting needles.

Knit the first row with knit stitches.

Next, continue knitting according to the above pattern. You should get a ribbed pattern along the edges, with a stockinette stitch in the center.

On every seventh row, cross the center six stitches to form a braid.

Knit this way for 24 cm. Wrap the knitting around the mug and check that the edges reach exactly to the handle. Do not close the loops yet - you need to unfasten the clasp.

On the right side, cast off 4 stitches and continue the row as usual.

Turning the knitted cover over to the other side, close 4 more loops on the wrong side.

Continue knitting the middle 6 stitches.

After knitting about 1.5 cm in the middle of the row, yarn over, and knit the last 2 loops together. You will end up with a small buttonhole. The clasp makes the case easier to use for its intended purpose and serves as an additional decoration.

Next, continue knitting 1-1.5 cm. Then bind off the loops.

Cut the threads that remain at the beginning and end of knitting to a length of about 4-5 cm. Then disguise them by crocheting them into the outer loops.

Sew a button on the edge opposite the clasp, leaving 1.5-2 cm.

Wrap the mug in a knitted cover and fasten it with a button.

To give a gift to a loved one, you can buy a simple cup, knit a beautiful case and give it all together ready-made. If you want to please your colleague, take the measurements discreetly when he moves away from his workplace and leaves the dishes on the table.

Instructions on how to knit a mug cover for a man with your own hands were prepared by Zhanna Galaktionova. Check out others to find something to do for tomorrow.

In this master class we decorate a mug with a crocheted cover. This mug is intended for hot drinks, where the cover on top will protect your palms from contact with the hot walls. How nice it is to drink your favorite drink from such a cute mug on cold days. In addition, it will already be a good gift, made by hand, including for the New Year. Place a pack of aromatic tea or coffee with it and your original gift is ready.
And so you selected the threads for the future mug cover.

We start by casting on an air row of loops, checking it with the circumference of the cup; the chain should be slightly larger than the mug.

Apply the typed rows to the mug to visually represent the height of your cover. When the height you need is reached, knit the side horizontal edge of the cover from top to bottom from the place where you finished gaining height, also with a single crochet.

Then make a series of chain stitches to reach the opposite side of the cover, starting from the edge where you finished piping the edge.

Join the row to the right side, securing it to the loop on the bottom right edge. When knitting the next row from right to left (1), attach the row to the left side. When knitting a row from left to right (2), attach the row to the right side.

Finish the set of rows by attaching the last row to the right side and knit the horizontal edge of the cover from the bottom up, as you knit the left vertical edge from the top down.

Without stopping, knit the vertical left edge again, from top to bottom (1), the bottom connection of the edges of the cover from right to left (2) and go up along the left vertical edge (3). This step was needed to decorate the edge of the cover.

Sew the button on any side convenient for you.

Now the case is ready.

For a cup that tapers downward, the knitting will be slightly different.

You can start knitting with a larger circle, gradually reducing the rows, narrowing the product to the narrower side of the cup.

Hello! It’s nice on a cold winter evening, gathered in a close family circle, to drink a cup of hot tea. And we will get double the pleasure if we drink from our favorite mugs, dressed in cozy clothes, created with our own hands. If you know how to knit at least a little and you have some knitting yarn at home, then you can please yourself and your family with cute clothes for tea or coffee cups. My new master class for you :) Good luck!

Will need acrylic yarn (100% acrylic 300m/100g), knitting needles No. 2.5; hook for finishing edges and loops No. 3.

Cast on 24 loops and knit:

1st row (front): 2 purl loops, 8 knit loops, 4 purl loops, 8 knit loops, 2 purl loops.

Row 2 (purl): 2 knit stitches, 8 purl loops, 4 knit stitches, 8 purl loops, 2 knit stitches.

3rd row: 2 purl loops, 8 knit loops we knit like this: we remove all the loops on an additional knitting needle and put them on in this order: first we knit the last 4 loops with knit stitches at work, and then we knit the first 4 knit loops, 4 purl loops, the next 8 loops we knit it like this: first we knit the last 4 knit stitches before work, and then the first 4 knit stitches, 2 purl loops.

The 4th row and all other even purl rows are knitted the same way, according to the pattern.

5th row - 8th row we knit according to the pattern.

Row 9: 2 purl loops, knit the next 8 loops like this: first knit the last 4 knit stitches before work, and then knit the first 4 knit loops, 4 purl loops, 8 knit loops like this: remove all the loops on an additional knitting needle and put them on like this order: first we knit the last 4 loops with knit stitches while working, and then we knit the first 4 knit loops, 2 purl loops.

Row 10 - row 14 we knit according to the pattern.

Row 15 is knitted like row 3.

16th row - 20th row we knit according to the pattern.

We knit the 21st row as the 9th row and continue to knit until the fabric height is 25-26 cm. We close all the loops in one row.

Crochet the entire resulting knitted rectangle with single crochets. Along the side we knit 15 stitches with yellow thread and continue to tie 34 stitches across the width, again 15 stitches and again 34 stitches. In total, when tying, you need to knit 98 single crochets.

On one of the sides we crochet buttonholes. For each loop, we cast on 5 air loops of the chain, knitting a total of 3 loops: 2 along the edges and 1 loop in the center. Use a carpet needle to hide the ends of the thread.

Sew on 3 buttons , placing several matches (between the fabric and the button), we make several stitches, and then wrap them (stitches), twisting the leg with thread so that the button does not fit tightly to the knitted base. We put the clothes on the mug and fasten them.

Hello! We continue to prepare our own New Year's gifts for family, friends and colleagues. Today I want to offer you a very interesting idea for a gift that can be made in one evening. Crochet New Year's warm clothes for a cup! A useful, necessary and very pleasant little thing that will definitely come in handy on cold winter evenings. Those who receive such a gift will be lucky. While drinking tea, they will gratefully remember you, who created such a miracle and gave them the warmth of your hands and your heart.

Crochet New Year's clothes for a mug

In order to knit New Year's clothes for a mug, I needed gray-blue acrylic yarn 20g, some white acrylic yarn for tying, hook No. 3, small white buttons 9 pieces, 3 pearlescent white buttons (for fastening), 2 red buttons, a needle with white and red thread, 2 felt snowflakes, Santa Claus, Moment type glue, scissors.

Crochet warm clothes for a mug : we collect a chain of 13 air loops (which are 9 cm wide) and knit with single crochets 27 cm high. We get a strip of knitted fabric 9 cm x 27 cm. We tear off and fasten the thread. We take a white acrylic thread and tie the entire strip with single crochets. At one end of the strip we sew three buttons, and at the other end we knit three loops.

The most interesting and delicious thing about this job : decorate finished clothes with beautiful decor. Here you can show all your imagination and come up with ways to decorate your clothes. You can use a variety of beautiful buttons, beads, snowflakes, sparkles, and so on that you have. This is an interesting and very exciting process. Decorated! Now is the time to make the eyelets and buttons.

The easiest way to find the place of the loops is this way : First, fold the edge of the canvas (9 cm) in half and find the middle. First we knit the middle loop in the middle (a chain of 7 air loops), fasten it and then knit the outer loops one at a time. We also sew buttons on the opposite side of the edge of the fabric. We find the middle, sew the first button in the middle, and after that the two outer ones.
