Why I can’t get pregnant: what to do? Can't get pregnant: what to do and what are the reasons Reasons why you can't get pregnant.

Procreation is one of the basic human instincts. This is why it is so important for a person to realize his or her potential as a parent. Not everyone can immediately understand that nothing can replace family and parenthood for people: neither a dizzying career, nor national recognition, nor the opportunity to live “for oneself.” If not immediately, then over time a childless person will certainly begin to feel inferior and unhappy.

So, for every married couple there comes a time when the question of planning a pregnancy comes up. But in fact, pregnancy may not occur as quickly as the couple would like. The question arises about how to get pregnant if it doesn’t work out.

In this article we will analyze the main mistakes of married couples who want to conceive a child. We will also touch on the basics of physiology, knowledge of which will help you quickly understand the adequacy and appropriateness of a lot of dumb advice on forums on the Internet.

The first stage of preparation for pregnancy

Where to start if you decide to get pregnant, but for some reason this doesn’t happen on its own?

The answer is clear - from going to the doctor to clarify the health status of the future parents. The doctor will prescribe the minimum examination that will allow you to assess whether there are any contraindications to pregnancy at a given time. Moreover, the examination is carried out not only for infections of the human reproductive system, as is commonly believed.

Most often, only a woman goes to see a doctor. And if the examination reveals, for example, a sexually transmitted infection, then treatment is already prescribed for the sexual partner. It is, of course, logical that he also requires treatment. But it is much more correct for a married couple to undergo examination at the same time and find out everything about their reproductive health at once. And then, with a clear conscience, begin the important task of procreation.

This is pregnancy planning. Unfortunately, only about 5% of families consciously plan a pregnancy according to all the rules, that is, in tandem with a doctor. In the understanding of many, planning a pregnancy is only a refusal of contraception and regular sex life. It will be good if it works and a good healthy baby is born. But often in this way it is either not possible to get pregnant at all, or problems arise with the resulting pregnancy.

What examination awaits you? And most importantly - why?

Many people neglect the stage of medical examination before pregnancy, naively believing that conceiving a child is not a tricky thing, everyone gets pregnant and gives birth. They often argue that if it doesn’t work out, then I’ll go to the doctor.

But not everything is so simple. Often a married couple does not even really know what processes occur in a woman’s body every month, how this is related to the conception and birth of a child. And that the most dangerous from the point of view of the occurrence of pathologies of pregnancy and fetal development are the first weeks after conception, when the woman still does not know about the pregnancy.

So the first task that a consultation with a doctor solves is an educational program on the fundamental aspects of the physiology of the human body. Often this already allows you to solve the problem and get a long-awaited pregnancy, for example, using information about the most favorable periods for conceiving a child.

In addition, an examination by a gynecologist will help to identify any pathology in time and, what is very important, treat it before pregnancy. In addition to general clinical tests (general blood test, general urine test), you will be prescribed an examination for infections, the so-called TORCH complex. This abbreviation includes a number of infections, where T is toxoplasmosis, R is rubella, C is cytomegalovirus, H is herpes types 1 and 2, O is other infectious diseases.

This test allows you to determine whether you have immunity to these infections, and also allows you to identify immunoglobulins-M, which indicate an acute infection in the body at the time of the examination.

Of course, if an acute infection is detected, it requires immediate treatment and delaying pregnancy for several months. Strictly speaking, we are not even talking about a delay. It’s just that with an acute infection, pregnancy cannot occur in most cases. Therefore, identifying and treating acute infection can solve the problem of pregnancy.

The detection of immunoglobulin-G in the blood tells us about a previous infection. In other words, they indicate developed immunity to this infection. It is very important to determine at the stage of preparation for pregnancy whether a woman has immunity to infections dangerous to the fetus (rubella, chicken pox).

You probably know that during pregnancy, a woman’s immune system is suppressed, and the body becomes more susceptible to various infections. Perhaps, if the expectant mother does not have immunity from infections dangerous to the fetus, and she did not suffer from these diseases in childhood, then vaccination should be used before pregnancy. And already two months after vaccination, you can safely plan a pregnancy.

Also, candidates for parents of the future baby are examined for sexually transmitted infections (chlamydia, ureaplasmosis, mycoplasmosis, trichomoniasis and others). Smears from a woman’s genital tract can detect not only pathological flora (the causative agent of infection), but also determine the acidity of the environment, which is important for normal sperm motility, and, therefore, the ability to fertilize an egg. The hospital complex of examinations includes examinations for HIV, syphilis, and viral hepatitis.

During the examination, the woman undergoes an ultrasound of the thyroid gland and pelvis. The role of the thyroid gland is a separate discussion, but for now take my word for it that it is very important. I’ll say a few words about the examination of the pelvic organs. Here we are primarily talking about disturbances in the structure and functioning of the reproductive system. For example, cysts, fibroids, and obstruction of the fallopian tubes are detected. These may be the main causes of infertility, without treatment of which it will not be possible to get pregnant.

Additionally, the doctor will definitely ask you to provide the results of fluorography of the future parents over the past year.

This is a short review. I will talk in more detail about examinations when planning pregnancy in a separate article.

The second stage of preparation for conception

The next step in preparing for conception is determining ovulation. As a rule, women who read articles on pregnancy already know what ovulation is. But I’ll remind you anyway. Ovulation is the release of an egg from a mature ovarian follicle. It occurs in the middle of the menstrual cycle.

For example, with a regular female cycle of 28 days, ovulation occurs approximately on the 14th day of the cycle. The first day of menstruation marks the beginning of a new menstrual cycle. With a long but regular cycle, you need to count 14 days back from the expected first day of menstruation. For example, with a 32-day cycle, ovulation will occur on the 18th day of the cycle.

But the fact is that the cycle lengthens due to the first phase of the menstrual cycle (before ovulation), when the follicle in the ovary grows and matures. With an irregular cycle, determining ovulation is much more difficult.

There are various tests to determine ovulation, measure basal temperature, and perform folliculometry using ultrasound to facilitate identifying the date of ovulation.

Basal temperature measurements must be carried out for at least three cycles. This is the only way you can find the most likely date of ovulation. The method is labor-intensive and time-consuming, but no financial costs are required. Its reliability is not very high, so it is increasingly being abandoned in favor of ovulation tests.

Determining ovulation using tests is a very expensive business. Test strips are quite expensive, but the results are more accurate. The package contains several (5-7) strips for determining the concentration of luteinizing hormone in urine. The peak concentration of this hormone occurs on the day of ovulation.

From what day should you start determining ovulation? To do this, with a regular cycle, you can use the formula P–17, where P– the number of days in a woman’s cycle. So, if a woman’s cycle is 28 days, then she should start determining ovulation from the 11th day (28-17=11).

If a woman has an irregular cycle, it is better to use jet tests (there are more of them in the package, so this method is cheaper). The test is considered positive when there are two clear lines. When the color intensity of the first strip is the same as that of the control strip, ovulation will occur within 24 hours.

Folliculometry is the monitoring of the growth of the dominant follicle, which will subsequently produce an egg, using ultrasound. Control begins on days 8-10 of the cycle at least once every three days, and preferably every other day. A follicle measuring 25-27 mm indicates the imminent onset of ovulation. The method is effective, but expensive and not available to everyone.

It is very important to carry out ultrasound monitoring to record the fact of the formation of the corpus luteum after ovulation, since cases of non-ovulating follicle are not uncommon. That is, there is growth of the follicle, but no release of the egg.

You can read more about these methods in the article « » .

When should you sound the alarm about what’s not working?

It all depends on the age of the expectant mother. It is worth consulting a doctor for an examination for infertility if a woman under 30 years of age who lives a regular sexual life without protection fails to become pregnant within a year.

Women over 30 years old should not delay the period of independent trials and attempts to become pregnant for more than 6 months. Until the age of 30, women may have 1-2 menstrual cycles per year without ovulation. And after 30 years, there can be up to five or six such empty cycles per year.

Rules for the successful conception of a child

Early autumn is the best time to conceive.

It is in autumn that the human body is at the peak of its health. Thanks to the saturation of the body with vitamins and microelements contained in seasonal fruits and vegetables, and more time spent in the fresh air, the body becomes stronger.

Future parents giving up bad habits

Smoking and alcohol significantly reduce the possibility of fertilization, contrary to popular belief. Sperm renewal in men occurs every 72-74 days. Even a single consumption of 30 g of vodka can reduce sperm motility by 30%.

The semen of a drinking man contains more defective sperm, with genetic damage, unable to produce healthy offspring. A person who smokes experiences exactly the same changes in the quality of sperm.

Adjust the weight of future parents.

Weight deviation, both towards obesity and towards deficiency, negatively affects the possibility of conceiving a child. With obesity, a woman's hormonal levels change, and this leads to problems with pregnancy.

Lack of body weight is also unfavorable. It often leads to the absence of menstruation and, as a result, the inability to become pregnant.

Excess weight in the expectant father disrupts testosterone production. And the lack of the latter will lead to impaired sperm maturation.

Proper nutrition and physical activity.

It is very important for both women and men to eat properly during pregnancy planning. A woman needs to introduce more vegetables and greens into her diet. They contain the necessary microelements to prepare the body for pregnancy. Products containing protein (fish, meat, legumes) are necessary for both women and men.

If a woman experiences a decrease in hemoglobin, you should turn your attention to veal. It is able to quickly create a good iron depot, which is so necessary during pregnancy.

Experts recommend eating eggs, caviar, and sprouted wheat grains. In such products, nature has provided a large supply of nutrients, since it is all intended for the development of new life. The diet should contain vegetable oil, which contains vitamin E, which is necessary for future parents.

Avoiding unhealthy foods containing trans fats is a self-evident step in preparing for conception. Fatty, salty, smoked, semi-finished products, fast food, and sweets will definitely not bring benefits to the body. And with regular consumption of such products, the body perceives this as a signal: pregnancy cannot be allowed, since the person is not eating well, there is no supply of nutrients - the body is not ready to endure pregnancy.

At the stage of preparation for conception, you should avoid heavy physical activity. For example, replace classes in the gym with swimming in the pool and walking.

You shouldn’t completely exclude physical activity, because for mom this is the last opportunity to slightly adjust the endurance of the abdominal muscles. You can no longer do this during pregnancy.

Heavy physical labor also exhausts the male body, interfering with the normal functioning of the reproductive system.

Features of “bed” rest.

Daily sexual activity reduces the likelihood of conception, since sperm need time to mature. With frequent ejaculation, young forms of germ cells will predominate in the sperm, and fertilization only with mature sperm (class A) can produce healthy offspring.

Regular sex life two to three days later for conception is the best option, including from a physiological point of view. Abstinence for more than a week has a negative impact on sperm quality. In this case, the old forms of sperm are slowly replaced by new active forms, which will certainly affect their speed and mobility.

It is worth saying that the maximum probability of fertilization of an egg exists precisely at the moment of its release from the ovarian follicle. With every hour of her life, the chances of fertilization and the formation of a zygote from her decrease. In this regard, experts recommend planning intimacy 3-4 days in advance, then the day before ovulation, and the next day after it. The sperm is able to wait for its lady and retain the ability to fertilize in the woman’s genital tract for up to 3-5 days.

Reconsider what products you use. Since some lubricants and lubricants contain spermicidal substances that immobilize and destroy sperm.

Psychological mood.

Don’t get hung up on poses, don’t perceive it as work (“it’s time, we’re making a baby!”). Everything should happen naturally, without unnecessary tension. Let intimacy be preceded by relaxation (aromatherapy, a warm bath with your loved one, meditation).

While planning your pregnancy, try to protect yourself from stressful situations. Plan a vacation with your spouse, a vacation at the seaside or in a sanatorium. I know the positive experience of more than one such married couple in my close circle, who returned from a trip as a threesome. Fortunately, in Russia there are even more than enough specialized sanatoriums that help childless couples.

I would like to once again emphasize the correctness and importance of contacting a gynecologist at the very beginning of this journey. After all, numerous unsuccessful attempts to get pregnant without certain knowledge and examinations, without answers to questions, place a burden on the shoulders of the married couple. Complexes, neuroses, breakdowns and even quarrels inevitably arise. Not every relationship can handle this.

It’s a completely different matter when the couple immediately received answers to most of their questions and knows from a scientific point of view all the processes of physiology in the human body. All that remains is not to change your dream and bring the day of the birth of your child closer.

Taking vitamins.

Three months before a planned pregnancy, gynecologists prescribe folic acid at a dose of 400 mcg per day. But what to do if pregnancy never occurs? Reception should be continued until pregnancy. It is impossible to overdose on this vitamin, but a deficiency is detrimental to the fetus.

Nowadays, special vitamin and mineral complexes for women and men have appeared on the pharmaceutical market, recommended for the period of pregnancy planning. Basically, these complexes contain the same folic acid, vitamin E, zinc, selenium and other microelements. With a varied and balanced diet, these complex medications may not be needed, but if there are dietary errors, they are necessary.

It is a men's tradition to go to the bathhouse.

Urologists do not advise men to go to the bathhouse while preparing for conception. It is not for nothing that the testicles are placed on the periphery of the male body. Thanks to this location in the scrotum, a constant temperature is maintained (about 34.4ºС). In other words, high temperatures during spermatogenesis (sperm formation) have a detrimental effect on sperm.

In this regard, men should not wear tight and tight trousers and underwear.

High temperatures for women.

Overheating isn't just dangerous for men. Gynecologists do not recommend that a woman planning a pregnancy choose too hot countries for her vacation. It is worth choosing southern countries for travel with a climate that is not sharply different from yours. In this case, the body will not perceive acclimatization as stress, and a comfortable warm climate will not harm the woman’s body.

What are the effects of long-term use of oral contraceptives?

Often, when a woman has been taking oral contraceptives for a long time, if they are abruptly discontinued, several eggs may mature in the ovary. At first, there is a very high probability of conceiving twins.

The most popular myths about how to get pregnant, which may not help, but harm

In preparation for writing this article, I asked what other resources were writing about this and what people were sharing on the forums. I don’t want to describe in vivid colors how the hair moved on my head. And in this article, I decided to substantiate the absurdity of the most common “dark” advice from forums from the point of view of physiology and medicine.

“Certain poses will help!”

This is a common myth. Changing the position will not affect the speed and possibility of sperm fertilization of the egg. Nature has long taken care from all sides to ensure that a healthy, mobile sperm finds the egg in any case.

Firstly, thanks to its tail, the sperm moves, secondly, cervical mucus (discharge from the cervix) changes its properties, making it easy for sperm to penetrate the uterus, thirdly, the sperm finds its lady love thanks to chemotaxis. That is, a special chemical reaction occurs when the egg, releasing certain active substances and attracting sperm to itself, forces them to move only towards it.

Judge for yourself, ovulation can occur in the right or left ovary, and how can the sperm determine where to run? Here nature itself provides for everything to happen for sure.

I would like to draw your attention to the fact that at this stage there must be a natural selection of the healthiest and most active ones, since those who are lethargic and have genetic defects cannot produce healthy offspring.

As for the posture after intimacy, there is also a small nuance. You can often read advice to take a pose with your legs raised up or in the “birch tree” pose. To make it clear, I will first explain the structure of the reproductive tract through which the male reproductive cells have to travel.

The cervix is the entrance to the uterine cavity, located exactly in the center of the upper wall of the vagina. And the cervix itself is a convex muscle ring. So, if a woman moves to such a vertical position, all the seminal fluid will be distributed below the cervical cushion. And it will be very difficult for her to get into the uterus, since spermatozoa cannot jump. I hope I made it clear that it doesn't look like a funnel.

But you can slightly lift the buttocks by placing a cushion under them, and this will really make the path easier for sedentary sperm. Thanks to the gravitational force, everything will come closer to where it needs to be.

“Get a kitten!”

Strange, street cats pose a danger.

You should not pet other people's cats or pick up kittens during pregnancy. And even when visiting, refrain from squeezing other people’s cats, and you are unlikely to be asked to clean up after them.

“Herbal medicine is safe!”

There is a lot of information about the use of folk remedies (sage, red brush, hogweed) in women who cannot get pregnant. I am a supporter of any medications being prescribed only by the woman’s attending physician. He has all the information about the woman’s health status, information about her tendency to allergies. Remember that herbs are also medicines, often potent, and have their own indications and contraindications for use.

For example, a woman has been trying to get pregnant for some time and, without consulting a doctor, drinks, for example, sage, which stimulates the ovaries and the production of estrogen. And in the second phase of the menstrual cycle, it is not estrogens that should predominate, but another hormone - progesterone. It ensures normal growth of the endometrium, into which the embryo can then be implanted.

In such a woman, it is quite possible that everything is fine with the maturation of follicles and the production of eggs, but there is progesterone deficiency, which happens very often. Without assistance in preparing for implantation and consolidation of the embryo, pregnancy will still not occur. And the woman is wasting her time, not to mention the fact that excessive estrogen activity of the ovaries can also lead to undesirable consequences.

So, without consulting a doctor and not knowing their hormonal characteristics, women risk unknowingly choosing a remedy that is exactly the opposite in effect to the one that the doctor might have advised her after the examination.

I agree that thoughts are material. Perhaps I’m being too down-to-earth, but it’s much calmer to get examined and find out that everything is fine with you. And then send requests to the Universe, draw a dream map, sleep according to Feng Shui, get a ficus tree, use the things of pregnant women you know and do much more that is recommended on the forums.

I am sure that one of my favorite aphorisms by Paolo Coelho undoubtedly works: “If you want something, the whole Universe will help make your wish come true.” But you shouldn’t completely rely on the help of the Universe in this matter.

So trust in the Universe, and go to the doctor))) And everything will be fine with you! Health to you and your already born and future children!

A very interesting film about how conception and fetal development occurs:

Often married couples who conceived their first without any problems are faced with the fact that they cannot get pregnant with a second child. There are many reasons for the lack of repeat pregnancy. Some of them do not pose a threat to health, while others require medical intervention. The first thing to do on the path to pregnancy is to cast aside doubts and sensibly assess your situation. If you have any health problems, consult a doctor.

If everything is in order with your health, then a second pregnancy will definitely occur.

If you can’t get pregnant with your second child for just a few months, then you shouldn’t panic. Typically, women believe that after a long period of contraception, conception will occur at the first unprotected contact. However, the body is a complex system. All processes in it depend on external and internal factors. Not being pregnant for several months is not a cause for concern. It is necessary to continue attempts, which, with the natural functioning of the reproductive organs, will soon lead to conception.

There is no need to worry about not getting pregnant again if the partners do not have sexual intercourse regularly. The modern pace of people's lives leaves little free time. Business trips, departures, long hours of work - all this does not allow you to have regular sex, which is an essential condition for conception.

If, after 12 months of regular sexual activity without the use of contraceptives, conception has not occurred, you should be concerned. Often women decide to have a second child after 35 years. Being in this age group, it is necessary to become puzzled by the absence of pregnancy after 6 months.

Why can't I get pregnant with my second child?

The number of married couples who want a second child, but are unable to do so, is growing every year. The reasons for the lack of pregnancy can be the most unexpected. It is quite difficult to find out about them on your own. Some conditions are asymptomatic and do not cause any inconvenience to the woman, other than the absence of pregnancy. You can find out about problems after a comprehensive examination. Sometimes it is enough to take just a few tests, and the reason for the inability to realize reproductive function will become clear.

Psychological factor

The psychological state of a woman is extremely important for a successful conception. Stress, anxiety and emotional instability lead to disruption of the production of certain hormones: cortisol, serotonin, endorphin, adrenaline, norepinephrine. All hormonal processes in the body are interconnected. For conception to occur, the functioning of the ovaries, adrenal glands, and the hypothalamic-pituitary system must be stable.

Being fixated on a single goal often fails to become pregnant with a second child. This type of infertility is called psychological. It cannot be treated with medication. To achieve the desired goal, a woman must let go of the obsessive desire and trust nature, and this can be the most difficult thing to do.

Husband's reproductive health problems

It may not be possible to get pregnant a second time due to the male factor. If a woman has a new partner, then his reproductive health can be doubted. Problems can also begin in a man having his first child. The main causes of violations are:

  • wrong lifestyle;
  • poor nutrition;
  • bad habits;
  • abuse of thermal procedures (baths, saunas);
  • sexually transmitted infections;
  • tumors of the pelvic organs;
  • decrease in the level of male hormones.

Testing a man for fertility is much easier than diagnosing female infertility. A spermogram provides a clear picture of the functioning of the body.

Breast-feeding

Often pregnancy does not occur due to breastfeeding

Wanting to give birth the same age, the couple begins to conceive at the moment when the first baby is barely six months old. They often fail to get pregnant. The reason is breastfeeding the first child.

During breastfeeding, a woman actively produces the hormone prolactin. It is necessary for the formation of milk. Prolactin blocks the functioning of the ovaries and suppresses ovulation. Even if the menstrual cycle has already resumed, but the woman continues to lactate, the likelihood of pregnancy will be low. To increase your chances of conceiving, you should first stop breastfeeding. In addition, doctors do not recommend breastfeeding during pregnancy, as this process can negatively affect gestation.

Medical women's problems

It would seem that the birth of the first child confirms a woman's fertility. However, problems in the reproductive system can begin after childbirth. The most common are:

  • cysts, ovarian tumors;
  • hormonal imbalance;
  • lack of ovulation;
  • adhesions in the pelvis;
  • inflammatory processes in the uterus;
  • changes in vaginal microflora;
  • diseases of the cervix.

If you can’t get pregnant with your second child, you should definitely get examined. A detailed diagnosis will make it possible to reliably determine why a woman has secondary infertility. Usually, after treatment, a second pregnancy occurs without difficulty within six months.

How to speed up conception?

When planning a second child, you should lead a healthy lifestyle. Sometimes giving up bad habits already brings the moment of conception closer. Cigarettes and alcohol will be banned during this period. Food should be as natural and healthy as possible.

Folk remedies are actively used by women. Hogweed, redbrush and sage are considered effective herbal remedies for infertility. You shouldn’t rely too much on them, but you can try it in consultation with your doctor.

To conceive a second child quickly, you need to set your fertile days. To determine favorable periods, you can use the following methods:

  • measure temperature and keep a graph;
  • use ovulation tests;
  • observe the position of the cervix and vaginal discharge;
  • sign up for folliculometry.

You can quickly become pregnant with a second child if you have sexual intercourse shortly before the egg leaves the ovary. To improve the quality of seminal fluid, it is recommended to abstain from intercourse for 2-3 days. Sexual intercourse performed one day before the release of the egg and the day after ovulation increases the chances of pregnancy.

It is also recommended to take special vitamin complexes during pregnancy planning. Folic acid plays an important role in the formation and division of cells. Vitamin E supports the function of the corpus luteum in the second phase, which also has a beneficial effect on conception.

Examinations and treatment

If after a year attempts to conceive a second woman are unsuccessful, then you should contact an antenatal clinic or any gynecologist. The gynecologist will listen to complaints and collect an obstetric history. Which will help you choose the right direction for subsequent examination. It is advisable to start the diagnosis with your partner. For men, the only fertility test is a spermogram. If abnormalities are detected, more detailed examinations may be recommended: a smear for infections, a MAP test. If the partner is healthy and sperm counts are good, then the cause must be sought in the female body.

Women's health is much more difficult to check. Diagnosis is time consuming and sometimes comes with financial costs. The first thing that is recommended for the patient is to undergo a gynecological examination and an ultrasound. Based on the results, one can indirectly judge the dysfunction of the reproductive organs.

It is important to conduct laboratory diagnostics. Analyzes include not only the study of vaginal secretions. For women over 30 years of age, it is important to determine their hormonal status. After 35, the likelihood of becoming a mother becomes lower due to a decrease in the efficiency of the ovaries. Closer to 40 years of age, ovulation occurs about 3 times within 12 months. It will be difficult to conceive a baby in such a future.

If you cannot get pregnant within a year, you should consult a doctor.

If the diagnostics did not reveal any abnormalities, the woman may be prescribed instrumental examinations:

  • hysteroscopy - study of the surface layer of the uterus;
  • hysterosalpingography – determination of fallopian tube patency;
  • colposcopy - examination of the condition of the cervix;
  • laparoscopy – endoscopic examination of the pelvic organs.

Treatment is carried out in accordance with the detected pathology. If non-functional ovarian tumors are identified, surgical intervention is performed. If infections are established, antibiotic therapy is prescribed, providing systemic and local action. In case of hormonal imbalances, it is recommended to undergo appropriate treatment.

You can increase the likelihood of conception by using oral contraceptives. Gynecologists prescribe the use of such drugs only after examination. The type of hormonal agent is selected taking into account the individual parameters of the body. Oral contraceptives suppress ovarian activity. After discontinuation of the drug, the sex glands begin to work with double force, reproducing eggs.

If the attempted results are not successful, then you can always use assisted reproductive technologies: IVF, ICSI and others.

Some people manage to get pregnant on the first try, while others try for years, but everything turns out to be unsuccessful. What is the reason?

If you want to increase your chances of having a baby, don't make the common mistakes we'll tell you about.

1. Worry too often

Stress is one of the main factors that reduces the likelihood of conception. If a woman's levels of cortisol, the stress hormone, increase, it can negatively impact her fertility. American scientists observed 400 couples trying to become parents and came to the following conclusions: if a woman has a high level of alpha-amylase (a stress indicator), her chances of becoming pregnant are reduced by 29% compared to those who have this indicator within the normal range. Experts are confident that under the influence of chronic stress, the production of hormones that ensure a stable cycle decreases.

If you are having trouble getting pregnant, try to relax and let go of the situation for a while. Try meditation, yoga - it contains asanas that improve blood flow to the pelvis and thus stimulate the synthesis of necessary hormones. This has a positive effect on the ability to conceive. Stop constantly planning your pregnancy. Instead, just remind yourself daily that this is a miracle that happens very often.

2. Don't do too much or too little

A large number of couples are convinced that the chances of conceiving a baby will increase greatly if they do not have sex for a week, “saving” sperm. It's a delusion. After a week of abstinence, sperm become much less mobile. Therefore, doctors advise having sex daily or every other day during the week before ovulation and on the day it occurs. More frequent intimacy can negatively affect the ability of sperm to fertilize, and less frequent intimacy creates the risk of missing the window of conception.

It has been scientifically proven that regular sex life helps stabilize the cycle: the male body secretes hormones that affect the female reproductive system.

Therefore, with regular sex, more estrogen is produced.

3. Use questionable techniques

Although we live in the 21st century, many women continue to douche, believing in the miraculousness of this method. There seems to be some logic to this: due to infections, poor nutrition, and bad habits, the environment in the vagina becomes acidic, and the sperm in it dies and cannot fertilize the egg. Therefore, many begin to introduce a weak soda solution so that the environment becomes alkaline and favorable for conception.

Doctors do not support douching: along with harmful microorganisms, soda also destroys beneficial ones, disrupting the natural pH of the vagina. There is also a risk of exacerbation of inflammatory processes, which can cause damage and erosion of the cervix, which can often only be identified during an examination by a gynecologist.

4. Make mistakes in calculations

The most common mistake is incorrectly determining the day of ovulation. For most women, it occurs mid-cycle, but it affects women with a 28-32 day cycle. Ovulation usually occurs 14 days before the start of menstruation. Therefore, if you have a 24-day cycle, then ovulation will occur on the 10th day. If your cycle is noticeably longer, say 42 days, then it can be assumed that you are ovulating less frequently, not every cycle. In this case, and also if you have an irregular cycle (in this case, ovulation can be either on the 6th day or on the 21st), or you don’t remember the last time you had your period, forget these rules. Here you cannot do without a test to determine ovulation, with which you can easily find out when your window of conception is.

Often women make another mistake - they do not count the beginning of the cycle from the first day of menstruation. The day your period begins is the one on which blood begins to be released, not the day before and not the day after. It is very important to know the exact day the cycle begins, because for a successful conception, the clock literally counts.

If attempts to become pregnant are unsuccessful, infertility on the part of the woman is usually assumed. Only in reality both partners have the same degree of responsibility. According to statistics, in 40% of cases men are infertile, in another 40% women are infertile, and in the remaining 20% unsuccessful attempts to become pregnant are due to problems with partner compatibility.

So don't panic ahead of time: on average, a healthy couple takes from 6 months to 1 year to conceive.

Note to moms!

Hello girls) I didn’t think that the problem of stretch marks would affect me too, and I’ll also write about it))) But there’s nowhere to go, so I’m writing here: How did I get rid of stretch marks after childbirth? I will be very glad if my method helps you too...

6. Trying to fit everything on schedule

It is impossible to accurately plan a pregnancy. Although healthy couples usually need from 6 months to a year to conceive, sometimes the first six months are spent on a woman just to normalize her cycle, which has become disrupted due to taking birth control pills. Until the cycle becomes regular, there will be no ovulation. So, if after 6 months your menstrual cycle has not returned to normal or you are not sure that you are ovulating, be sure to go to the gynecologist.

7. Hurry

Many people find sarcasm in the statement that after sex a woman needs to lie on her back with her buttocks raised for about 20 minutes. But, according to doctors, this increases the chances of getting pregnant by 80%. So don't neglect this method.

8. Ignore concerns for which there are reasons.

Consulting a doctor is not paranoia. There are situations when you should not ignore what is bothering you, because it is not only about you, but also about the future baby. It is possible that your cycle has always been irregular, and this is the reason that you cannot get pregnant. Or maybe you have some kind of illness, and you want to make sure that this does not threaten the health of your unborn baby.

If you are concerned about something or are unsure about something, go see a specialist. He will explain to you what surprises and difficulties you may encounter. If you later have difficulties trying to get pregnant, you will know what to do.

9. You can’t give up bad habits

Some women drink alcohol in the early stages of pregnancy, not realizing their interesting situation. So, if you are not protecting yourself, either give up alcohol and cigarettes, or reduce their use to a minimum.

10. Don’t monitor your partner’s health

What harms your fertility can also negatively affect a man's ability to conceive. Tobacco, alcohol, and unhealthy diet worsen the quality and reduce the quantity of sperm. According to research, smoking and alcohol damage sperm at the chromosome level. Considering that complete sperm renewal takes 3 months, at least for this period your partner should give up bad habits. Make sure his diet is balanced and includes selenium, vitamins C and E - they are very beneficial for men's health.

The effect of temperature on a man's ability to conceive has not been proven. American experts believe that it is not essential for the functioning of the male genital organs. However, some doctors do not advise taking frequent hot baths, even if a man does not have problems with sperm quality.

Several studies indicate that scrotal temperature increases when a person holds a laptop on their lap for a long time. Other experts have found that radiation from mobile phones can reduce a man's ability to conceive, especially if the gadget is in his pants pocket. However, a clear relationship between heat and male fertility has not been established.

Ovulation occurs 14 days before the start of the menstrual cycle (with a 28-day cycle - on the 14th day). Deviation from the average value occurs frequently, so the calculation is approximate.

Also, together with the calendar method, you can measure basal temperature, examine cervical mucus, use special tests or mini-microscopes, take tests for FSH, LH, estrogens and progesterone.

You can definitely determine the day of ovulation using folliculometry (ultrasound).

Possible reasons

Many couples faced with the problem of infertility fall into real panic. Repeated unsuccessful attempts to conceive a baby lead to the fact that future parents begin to experience despair and even fear. This problem often causes relationships between partners to deteriorate, and in some cases even leads to separation.

The statistics also show a rather sad picture. Thus, according to American scientists, approximately 20% of couples in the United States who unsuccessfully try to conceive a child naturally face the problem of infertility. In Russia the statistics are somewhat better. According to statistics, only 10-14% of couples in Russia face the problem of infertility.

There are currently a huge number of reasons that can contribute to the development of difficulties with the natural conception of a baby. In practice, it often happens that several simultaneously acting causative factors can lead to the development of infertility. For each couple, the reasons that contribute to problems with natural conception are different.

It often happens that problems with the natural conception of a baby are “attributed” only to the woman. Many men, even if they have some pathologies, categorically do not want to accept this, saying that the problem is not with them at all. Such “shifting” of responsibility, unfortunately, occurs quite often. However, it is worth noting that the cause of infertility is not always the woman.

Doctors note that infertility problems in women and men occur equally often. Thus, many experts believe that male infertility, just like female infertility, occurs in 40% of cases. At the same time, combined infertility (when both partners have a problem) is registered in approximately 20% of cases.

Thus, it becomes clear that both women and men should be examined. In this case, the likelihood of a natural conception for a couple increases significantly.

Gynecological diseases

Women may have problems with the onset of a long-awaited pregnancy for various reasons. Doctors identify a huge number of different pathologies that can cause female infertility. They are usually associated with various reproductive organs.

Thus, one of the common problems that can contribute to the failure of a long-awaited pregnancy is ovarian diseases.

These pathologies are dangerous for the development of dishormonal disorders, since the ovaries are the main female reproductive glands that produce hormones. Pathologies of these organs often contribute to menstrual irregularities. In such a situation, the natural process of follicle maturation is disrupted, which leads to a woman’s fertility (ability to procreate) decrease.

Doctors identify a huge variety of ovarian pathologies that develop with such functional disorders. For example, such diseases include follicular cysts or polycystic disease. With these pathologies, the process of natural maturation of eggs in the ovaries is disrupted, which contributes to the fact that the onset of a long-awaited pregnancy is postponed indefinitely. Without properly selected therapy in such a situation, unfortunately, it is almost impossible to achieve natural conception.

The next group of pathologies, which can also contribute to the development of problems with natural conception, is associated with diseases of the uterine appendages - the fallopian tubes. The inflammatory process due to various diseases causes the epithelium lining the inside of the fallopian tube to become damaged. Because of this, a healthy and even mature egg released from the ovary during ovulation cannot meet sperm. In such a situation, natural fertilization is also impossible.

Adhesions and scar changes that are localized in the fallopian tubes can also become a serious cause of female infertility. These pathologies can develop independently, but most often form after any operations on the reproductive organs. The adhesion is a mechanical obstacle on the path between the sperm and the egg. The presence of such a “barrier” is also a predisposing cause of the development of infertility.

Various inflammatory pathologies of the uterus are another reason that contributes to the emergence of serious problems associated with difficulties conceiving a baby.

Chronic endometritis, which occurs with the development of a strong inflammatory process, leads to a change in the thickness of the endometrium (inner wall of the uterus). In such a situation, the fertilized egg cannot attach normally to the uterine wall. If implantation does not occur, then pregnancy is impossible. In this case, the pregnancy is terminated almost immediately after it begins.

Infertility problems can also occur in women who were able to become pregnant initially. For example, difficulties with natural conception may occur in women after a miscarriage or even a missed abortion. In this situation, the hormonal levels in the female body change significantly. Such “failures”, as a rule, contribute to the disruption of the menstrual cycle. This leads to untimely maturation of eggs in the ovaries, which means a shift in the date of ovulation, which contributes to difficulties with natural conception.

Perhaps it is worth mentioning separately about medical termination of pregnancy. This situation is also quite common in gynecological practice. Medical abortion is one of the possible reasons that can contribute to the development of problems with the natural conception of a baby. In this case, termination of pregnancy is carried out using special medications that significantly affect the functioning of the ovaries and the menstrual cycle as a whole. After an abortion, a woman’s body can develop dangerous pathologies that affect the possibility of another pregnancy in the future. Another very insidious disease – endometriosis – can also lead to female infertility.

The statistics on the incidence of this pathology, unfortunately, are quite sad. Doctors also note that endometriosis is currently “younger”, that is, it has begun to occur in women of ever younger age. This pathology causes disturbances in the functioning of a woman’s reproductive organs, which can also lead to the development of infertility.

The correctness of the selected therapy plays a very important role so that a woman, despite having dangerous diseases of the reproductive organs, can still become a mother.

Consequences of operations on the female genital organs

The so-called peritoneal factor plays a role in the development of female infertility. It contributes to the formation of adhesions and various growths of connective tissue in the female body due to various circumstances. They can be localized in different areas. So, scars and adhesions can be in the abdominal cavity, as well as in the pelvis. They most often occur due to previous operations.

Doctors have not yet come to a consensus on what is the root cause of the development of adhesive disease. Currently, there are a huge number of different theories and hypotheses, but all of them are only indicative. The presence of adhesions in the area of the ovaries, uterus or fallopian tubes is a serious problem for natural conception. In some cases, this pathology is the first “step” on the path to female infertility.

Various invasive interventions performed inside the uterus can also become an obstacle to the onset of a long-awaited pregnancy. Often this situation is facilitated by curettage, which is carried out for various medical reasons. Violation of the integrity of the endometrium contributes to difficulties with the onset of natural implantation. The fertilized egg cannot attach to the uterine wall, which means pregnancy does not occur.

Male diseases

As already noted, doctors note not only female but also male infertility. Pathologies that can contribute to a man’s difficulty conceiving can be very diverse. Diseases of the intimate organs, accompanied by impaired spermatogenesis (the process of formation of male reproductive cells - sperm), are one of the most common causes that lead to the development of infertility in men.

Many of the pathologies that occur in the stronger sex are associated with previous infections. One of the possible reasons for this is sexually transmitted infections. It is believed that men are more sexually active than women. This also determines the fact that their risk of developing sexually transmitted infections is higher than among women.

The danger of sexually transmitted infections lies largely in the fact that they can be “dormant” for a long time, that is, they cannot manifest themselves clinically. For quite a long time, practically nothing bothers the man. He does not have any problems with erections or natural arousal. Such imaginary “well-being” contributes to the fact that an infected man goes to see a doctor late. It also happens that the first contact is already a consultation with a fertility specialist due to difficulties with conception.

Infections are a very strong risk factor for the development of pathologies of the testicles, penis and prostate gland. Pathogenic microbes also “settle” quite easily in the seminiferous tubules. Chronic inflammation is dangerous because the full functioning of a man’s reproductive organs is disrupted. In this case, as a rule, spermatogenesis is also disrupted. Spermatozoa become less active and mobile, which means that the possibility of natural fertilization is reduced significantly.

It is worth noting that not only sexually transmitted infections can contribute to the development of pathologies leading to infertility. Even some “common” childhood infections can lead to problems associated with difficulties in conceiving naturally. Such diseases include, for example, mumps (mumps). If a boy has suffered this disease with the development of certain complications, then in adulthood he may develop problems associated with difficulties in natural conception.

Concomitant pathologies

It should be noted that not only pathologies of the reproductive organs are the cause leading to infertility. Diseases of the internal organs can also lead to problems with natural conception.

Doctors note that one of the possible causes leading to infertility is thyroid disease.

This endocrine organ plays a huge role, producing specific hormones that affect the functioning of the entire body as a whole. If the functioning of the thyroid gland is disrupted for some reason, then the likelihood of developing problems with conception increases. In this case, in order to cope with the resulting disorders, it is necessary to first treat the underlying disease.

Unfortunately, it is impossible to improve fertility rates without contacting an endocrinologist and carrying out specific treatment.

In reproductive medical practice, there are cases when both partners, dreaming of the imminent birth of a baby, do not have any diseases of the internal organs, but the problem of infertility exists. For a long time, doctors could not find the reason for this. They told couples that they were completely healthy and that conception would occur a little later. However, with the development of science and genetics, scientists have established a number of circumstances associated with genetic pathologies, which can also contribute to the development of problems with the onset of a long-awaited pregnancy.

Such pathologies include genetic and chromosomal damage. During the fusion of a sperm and an egg, a new organism is formed, which already has a new unique set of chromosomes. During the fusion of germ cells, breakdowns of the genetic apparatus can occur. Some of them are, unfortunately, incompatible with later life. In this case, fertilization of the egg occurs, but it does not develop further, but simply dies.

Genetic pathologies are a very complex and difficult to diagnose problem leading to infertility. That is why all couples who apply to reproductive medical clinics are assigned a consultation with a geneticist.

It is especially important to undergo consultation for people who have a history of chromosomal and genetic diseases. Couples whose close relatives have had cases of stillbirth or spontaneous miscarriages should also visit a geneticist.

Immunological incompatibility of partners

Many couples who are faced with the problem of infertility, unfortunately, have heard the word “incompatibility.” Typically, this term is used in cases where it is impossible to determine the exact reason for the impossibility of naturally conceiving a child due to some circumstances. This “diagnosis” is often given to a couple by people they know or even close relatives who learn about their problem. Doctors use the term “incompatibility” only in certain cases. The concept of partner incompatibility may be associated with certain immunological disorders. The presence of this feature became known relatively recently with the development of modern instrumental diagnostic methods.

For a long time, doctors did not know about the existence of antibodies - special protein molecules found in the blood. So, in the male, as well as in the female body, specific antibodies can develop that prevent natural conception. Men may develop antisperm antibodies, and women may develop antibodies in the mucus of the cervical canal. The presence of such protein particles contributes to the development of an immunological conflict.

In this situation, the likelihood of natural conception decreases significantly. An immunological conflict can only be determined through extensive diagnostics, which, as a rule, are prescribed by a fertility specialist.

Wrong lifestyle

The health of future parents is a very important criterion for normal conception. The right lifestyle plays a huge role in this. Doctors attach great importance to this seemingly primitive factor.

Various nutrition-related problems can lead to the development of infertility. For the normal functioning of internal organs, including those responsible for reproduction, a certain amount of proteins, fats and carbohydrates is required. Moreover, they must do so daily. Vitamins and minerals are also necessary for the body to function properly. Without them, the internal organs of the human body also cannot fully function.

The modern rhythm of life often contributes to the fact that rational nutrition is disrupted. Increasingly, people are consuming fast food to satisfy their hunger. Such food does not bring health to the human body. Violation of the supply of complete protein, as well as all necessary nutrients, contributes to the fact that internal organs begin to work “incorrectly”. The longer such disorders occur, the higher the risk of developing various pathologies.

Many couples, turning to doctors, think about some dangerous pathologies that cause the development of infertility, and the reason can be quite banal - an unhealthy lifestyle. Doctors note that adjusting the regimen and menu often helps ensure that the long-awaited pregnancy finally occurs.

Reduced fertility can also be caused by irregular sleep. For the body to function properly, doctors recommend sleeping at least 8 hours a day. In this case, the internal organs can be restored, which means they can work better. People experiencing sleep problems should definitely consult their doctor about this.

Another reason that may contribute to problems with natural conception is stress. Sometimes the exhausting pace of modern life contributes to excessive fatigue. The stronger the stress, the higher the risk of developing problems with natural conception.

An organism weakened by stress factors is, as it were, “not ready” for procreation. In this case, doctors recommend reducing stress, revising your work schedule, and also including relaxing procedures in your daily routine. Breathing practices, yoga, relaxing massage, and aromatherapy are perfect.

Separately, it is worth mentioning bad habits. Scientists have proven that alcohol, or rather, the ethyl alcohol it contains has an extremely negative effect on the genitals. Moreover, it is equally harmful for both men and women. It is believed that even 30 ml of ethyl alcohol can reduce spermatogenesis. Alcohol also affects the maturation of female follicles, which can lead to problems with timely and complete ovulation.

Smoking– another risk factor for developing problems with natural conception. Nicotine and other equally harmful chemicals contained in cigarettes have not only harmful effects on the reproductive system, but also on the heart and blood vessels. Disruption of the internal organs contributes to the fact that the likelihood of conception is significantly reduced.

Psychological barriers

The state of the nervous system can also affect the onset of a long-awaited pregnancy. Psychologists note that psychological incompatibility of partners can become a reason that prevents conception. They note that if a woman completely does not trust her partner and does not “see” him as the father of her future children, then this can lead to the fact that pregnancy will not occur.

In order to eliminate this factor, couples who come for a consultation at a medical clinic are required to consult a psychologist. During the conversation, the specialist must determine how the partners relate to each other and whether they are ready to truly become parents.

If a psychologist identifies any problems, then psychological consultations may be required in the future. During such appointments, the specialist will work through the problems that have arisen, helping to solve them. As a rule, even if one of the partners has any beliefs, both should visit a psychologist.

It is believed that such couples consultations bring partners closer together and even help improve relationships in a couple.

Idiopathic infertility

Unfortunately, despite the rather intensive development of medicine and science, at present doctors do not yet know all the reasons that can lead to the development of problems with the onset of a long-awaited pregnancy. Still, there are cases when both partners are healthy, but the diagnosis of “infertility” is made. This situation is also not a reason for despair.

This technique is increasingly being used by Western and domestic “stars”, politicians and ordinary people who dream of babies. IVF has helped many people discover what happiness means to have a child.

When should you start worrying?

The process of natural conception is a real natural mystery. For a successful pregnancy, a variety of factors must work. It does not always turn out that fertilization of the egg occurs on the very first try. If you didn’t manage to conceive a baby the first time, then you shouldn’t worry about it at all. This situation is quite normal and does not indicate that the partners have any problems.

It is worth paying attention to the difficulties if you have repeated unsuccessful attempts. So, a couple who is purposefully “engaged” in conceiving a baby should visit doctors 5-6 months after unsuccessful attempts. Some partners go to the clinic faster because they are very worried that the long-awaited pregnancy is not happening. Cases of couples dreaming of a baby turning to medical institutions occur already 2-3 months after the decision to conceive a child.

It is worth noting that many of these “recommendations” are far from modern ideas of science. Not only do they not contribute to conception, but in some cases they can lead to aggravation of the situation. The opinion of doctors on this issue is unanimous - couples who cannot conceive a baby after repeated attempts should first seek medical advice.

Currently, there are modern reproductive clinics that specialize in the pathology of infertility. Experienced staff, who have undergone special training and have sufficient work experience, try to help every couple who seeks help.

There are quite a few reasons why you can't get pregnant. First of all, of course, it is necessary to pay attention to 2 fundamental factors of each person - nutrition and lifestyle in general.

Proper nutrition to get pregnant quickly

If a woman wants to get pregnant quickly, then she first needs to reconsider her daily diet. Although scientists have not yet proven the effect of any specific products on reproductive function and conception in general.

It is necessary to exclude fatty, salty foods and add more vitamins - vegetables, fruits. Oysters will be useful as they have a beneficial effect on conception and ovulation sensitivity. Well, few people don’t know that this is one of the popular aphrodisiacs. Also, for a quick pregnancy, it is advisable to start eating cereals, dairy products, lean meat and fish. It is better not to add salt, as it tends to retain water. If a woman has problems with excess weight, then first she should diet a little.

To achieve the desired pregnancy, coffee should be excluded from the list of products. Why? The answer is simple: at the cellular level, caffeine can suppress fertility due to its effects on the central nervous system. Basically, coffee is consumed precisely for the reason that it gives a sudden burst of energy. At the same time, the whole body suddenly begins to be in good shape and because of this, androgens do not have time to transform into sex hormones. Therefore, experts do not advise women planning to conceive to indulge in coffee.

Bringing your lifestyle back to normal

The human body is a complex mechanism, the organs of which are closely interconnected. Constant stress, smoking, drinking alcohol and low immunity - under the influence of all these factors, the body realizes that it is not yet ready for pregnancy. Accordingly, conception does not occur.

Therefore, to get pregnant, you first need to get in shape. As already mentioned, the first factor affecting fertilization is weight. Exercise and stick to a diet for a while to make your attempts to have a baby successful.

However, low weight will not affect your upcoming pregnancy either. As a rule, in women who weigh little, the menstrual cycle and ovulation can “merge” with each other, which also makes conception virtually impossible.

Should we talk about bad habits? Women who drink alcohol, abuse cigarettes and even drugs may not get pregnant at all. If the long-awaited moment does happen, then preserving the fetus will be dangerous, both for its health and for the mother. Men who want to see themselves as a future father also need to give up bad habits.

In what cases is it necessary to undergo examination by a gynecologist?

It also happens that a woman, having reached despair with the question “what to do?”, turns to a gynecologist for help and this is the right decision.

Specialist help may be needed in the following cases:

  • Previous sexually transmitted diseases and venereal diseases.
  • Current problems of a woman’s reproductive system that interfere with normal conception and development of pregnancy.
  • Abortion.
  • Ectopic pregnancy.
  • Irregular menstrual cycle.
  • Use of oral contraceptives and other hormonal drugs.
  • Early or late onset of sexual activity.

Don't be shy about the doctor. It’s better to tell your gynecologist everything as it is and then he will be able to help in your situation. Nowadays, infertility is far from a death sentence. Now there are many methods to get pregnant, and specialists are seizing on the slightest opportunity.

One of these methods is in vitro fertilization or, in other words, IVF. An egg is taken from a woman, a sperm from a man, and they are placed in a beneficial environment. Fertilization occurs there, and the fertilized egg is attached to the uterine wall, after which the woman becomes pregnant.

Female cycle - how to calculate correctly?

When a woman reaches menarche (her first period), a new period begins in her life: she is now capable of childbearing. It is often recommended to use the calendar method for calculating “favorable days” when the probability of conception is highest.

So, the first day of menstruation is the first day of the female cycle. It is counted from the first day of menstruation to the first day of the next. Normally, the menstrual cycle can range from 28 to 40 days. To find out when a woman will ovulate, you need to calculate the average cycle length and divide it by 2. For example, if your period comes exactly once a month on the same day, then the cycle is 30 days. This means that the “favorable moment” occurs 15 days after the arrival of menstruation.

Do not forget that 2 days before and 2 after ovulation are also good for pregnancy planning and “dangerous” regarding unwanted conception. Another name for this period is the fertile period. Now there are many tests that determine the onset of ovulation, but usually the woman herself intuitively senses its arrival. The body is designed in such a way that during this period a woman’s libido increases significantly, and she becomes more attractive to men.

Basal temperature - help in the process of conception

Measuring basal temperature allows a woman to determine the level of hormones in the body. To plan a pregnancy, you should start counting from the first day of the menstrual cycle at the same time every day. You need to use the same thermometer. In addition, you need to record your own feelings on this day: depression, calm, joy, etc.

Typically, basal temperature is measured in the mouth, rectum or vagina. For women, the latter method is preferable. The measurement is taken immediately after waking up, without unnecessary movements. You should also not talk at this moment.

The onset of ovulation is indicated by an increase in temperature of approximately 0.4 degrees. Normally, this figure is 37.2. A reading below 37 is usually in the first half of the cycle, when a woman has more estrogen than progesterone.

It is necessary to constantly measure basal temperature even after pregnancy to avoid further problems with its course. This is especially worth paying attention to if a woman has previously had a spontaneous miscarriage. If the temperature is 0.8-1 degrees below normal, then you should definitely consult a doctor to exclude fetal freezing and possible deviations.

Poses for conceiving a child

So how to get pregnant if you can't? Approach the problem from the beginning. Sexologists recommend a whole list of positions for successful conception.

First of all, it is worth noting that they are not suitable for everyone, only for women with a traditional uterine shape without any deviations:

  • Missionary position. In this position, the male seed immediately enters the uterus, and from there into the tubes, and if the number of viable sperm is sufficient, then fertilization occurs.
  • "Doggy style". Again, in this position the seed also goes directly into the cervix. Experts are accustomed to noticing that in this position there is a high chance of conceiving a boy, since the fastest sperm will have access to the eggs.
  • On the side. The woman bends her knees towards herself and lies on her side, and the man is behind her. Friction and close proximity of bodies can ensure rapid conception, especially if a woman is ovulating that day.

As practice shows, for pregnancy to occur, it is necessary to have sex regularly, but not constantly. Otherwise, the man’s production of viable sperm will decrease, and all attempts to conceive a child will be in vain.

Do not rule out discomfort. Also, women with structural features of the uterus (curved, etc.) should have sex in positions that are comfortable for them. It is complete trust and pleasure from the process that will increase the chances of success.

Preparations in traditional medicine

As practice shows, most problems causing infertility can be resolved using the methods offered by traditional medicine.

Doctors distinguish several methods:

  • Hormonal drugs. Often, a woman cannot become pregnant due to hormonal imbalance. An experienced specialist selects a set of medications for the patient aimed at establishing normal hormonal levels, which allows conception to occur.
  • Surgical intervention. If pathological processes occur in the reproductive system (formation of adhesions, fibroids, cysts, etc.), then it is necessary to begin therapy as early as possible, affecting the patency of the tubes and the ability of the uterus to bear a child. If hormonal and drug treatment does not produce any results, then surgery is prescribed to excise adhesions and other formations.
  • ECO. As already mentioned, in vitro fertilization is suitable for those women who have not been helped by previous treatment methods. The operation is not cheap, but the percentage of the long-awaited pregnancy after it will still occur is higher.

Folk remedies

There are also many traditional medicines that help you get pregnant quickly. However, doctors do not recommend resorting to them without special need and consultation. Some may not only not work, but also cause significant harm to the expectant mother, permanently depriving her of the ability to bear children.

Among the neutral methods of conception, it is worth noting the following:

  • Positive attitude. If a woman is happy and satisfied with herself, then, as ancient healers claimed, her chances of becoming pregnant increase. And from a modern point of view, this point will be useful. After all, with depression and stress, the body is depressed and independently determines that now is not the time to bear a baby.
  • Moon phase. It happens that for a girl the favorable period of conception is considered to be the lunar cycle when she herself was born.
  • Herbal decoctions. For example, from sage. A teaspoon of dried flower is poured into a mug with hot water. This tea needs to be taken for a couple of weeks. A bonus will be the miraculous effect of sage on the immunity of the expectant mother.

How to quickly get pregnant with your second child?

Many women, after the birth of their first child, when trying to conceive a second baby, are faced with a problem such as secondary infertility.

It may be due to the following factors:

  • Hormonal disbalance.
  • Past diseases of the reproductive system and vagina.
  • Damage to the endometrium during an abortion, as a result of which the fertilized egg cannot attach to the wall of the uterus.
  • Biological incompatibility of partners. Scientists still cannot fully explain this phenomenon, but, unfortunately, it does occur.
  • Age from 35 years.

It makes no difference whether previous pregnancies ended in childbirth or not. To diagnose secondary infertility, you must consult a doctor to exclude the possibility of diseases and pathologies. If they are present, the doctor will prescribe appropriate treatment or give a referral for surgery.

Do not despair, while a woman is of childbearing age, she still has a chance of becoming pregnant with a second child. It is necessary to consult a specialist in time and reconsider your lifestyle. The same should be done for the partner from whom the lady wants to give birth to a baby.

Signs and superstitions - the most popular myths about conceiving a baby

Pregnancy and childbirth are shrouded in many myths, most of which date back to the times of Ancient Rus'.

Here is a list of the most popular ones:

  • Pregnant women are prohibited from cutting their hair, otherwise there will be a risk of premature birth. Scientists have long refuted the connection between childbirth and hair, but a neat appearance for a woman, even if she is pregnant, will certainly not be superfluous.
  • A woman needs to hide the fact that she is carrying a baby under her heart for as long as possible, otherwise he may be jinxed.
  • You cannot look at scary and frightening things, otherwise the child may be born ugly.
  • If fluff appears on the belly, then a boy will be born. The appearance of vellus hair indicates an increased content of male hormones in the body, but even women with such hair often gave birth to girls.
  • Before the baby is born, you cannot buy baby clothes, a stroller or a playpen. All this is nothing more than prejudice. Even in ancient times, most problems were attributed to something inexplicable. Try not to pay attention to this.
  • You should watch your words: do not swear and do not say about yourself “I am infertile.” This myth takes place in real life, since a person forms a mood with his thoughts, which can be positive or negative.
  • Pregnant women need to eat for two. In part, this is also true. Since now a woman needs to worry not only about herself, but also about the child, who receives most of the nutrients the expectant mother receives from food.
